The Spotted owl, poster child for environmental causes in the Pacific Northwest, was listed as an endangered species two decades ago today. 
It also marked the demise of 90% of Oregon’s lumber industry, robbing rural Oregon of political power and, with the liberal influence of a few heavily populated counties, changing the shape of Oregon to this day. It is a pity that only after all this time we see that bad science, such as is being foisted on the masses in the form of “Man Made Global Warming”, was responsible for the curtailment of a huge local industry and the decline of a sustainable heritage.
Ultimately, it turns out, the downfall of the raptors was not man after all, but a natural process; barred owls moving into the dimunitive spotted owls territory and forcing them out. Remember this next time you are told that CO2 is a green house gas that needs to be sequestered. All life on earth depends on Carbon Dioxide, and the facts show that although CO2 levels have been rising in the last 100 years, the climate has not become warmer in any relative amount. In other words, no relationship between the two exists. Remember that much higher amounts of CO2 existed well before any of mans influences, and the climate was both warmer AND cooler during those times.
It is a commen tactic of the far left to associate outcome with causation, id est there are more planes in the sky, and I see more clouds therefore planes are making it cloudier. The inteligentsia on the left is well aware of this BS but utilize the twisted logic to propel their own agenda. Another reason liberals want to pay teachers more money to teach less. The more ignorant the populace is, the better and easier to get them to believe in lies.
The real irony lies with the fact that environmentalists, in their naive zeal to undo any impact mankind has made in the world, bend over backward to modify and change the natural order, thereby inexorably changing mother nature herself, as well as jeopordizing the human race. Perhaps in the secular mindset, that is the ultimate goal.

I stand corrected on a “global ban” of DDT, but remain convinced that fears among many if not most Americans about the use of DDT is unfounded. A fear perpetuated by extreme environmentalism, a mostly leftist ideology.
Terrorism:
The calculated use of unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological.
Kind of like trying to convince people that if you don’t stop driving your car, the world is going to be an ash cinder. Spiking trees, burning businesses, riots at G20 summits, the list goes on.
That is a crowd I am not going to hang around with.
